About AimeéAimeé Silver is the owner of The Sugared Bear, Inc., a cake bakery in the beautiful Cashiers, North Carolina mountains. With years of experience, and a love of design & decoration, I am the sole cake designer, baker and decorator. Although having no formal education in baking, I learned many culinary skills in my mom's kitchen in Dillard, Georgia, where I grew up. She taught me invaluable skills that I built on to create my own cake decorating business. My loving husband, David, who is a plasterer / builder by trade, has been unfortunate enough to be involved in the wedding cake business as well! He is an unending source of brilliant ideas and is indispensable at time of delivery and set-up. He has even proved himself to be an expert when he tried his hand at gum paste modeling. We have been married for 18 years and have resided in Cashiers for the last 16. We love our mountain home and understand why so many come to the area for their wedding day. The natural beauty surrounding us is breath-taking indeed. |

Due to huge increases in the cost of flour and other ingredients, our prices have changed. Because I have to rely on others to make edits to my website, the pricing below may not be current. Please contact me directly for detailed pricing information. As cakes vary so greatly in size, style and complexity, it is impossible to give a set wedding cake price. This is done after knowing the specifics of your customized creation. Price is based on the design elements of each cake. If you have a budget, please let me know in advance. I will show you ideas that will fit into your budget. The more time spent and more complicated the design is, the more the cost of your cake. What I can say is that my prices for buttercream iced cakes start at $5.50 per serving, and my price for white chocolate fondant starts at $8.50. This would be for round cakes decorated with fresh flowers, provided by you. We do not charge a fresh flower placement fee as others do. (Remember- fresh flowers can be treated with pesticides. Talk to your florist and choose wisely) Cake Plateaus- I have a large variety of cake plateaus available. I rent these for $15-$30. Set-Up & Delivery- Cakes require much time to prepare for transport on our winding country roads and slow speeds and careful maneuvering are necessary to ensure your cake arrives safely. This time, along with transportation costs oblige us to charge for delivery & set up. This charge is $100 in the Highlands/Cashiers area. Sampling- Because I am a small bakery, I must ask a charge for sampling to help cover some of the time involved. I will provide you with a 6" cake(s) of your flavor choice for $30 each. This is due at time of sampling, please. Refundable Deposit- In most instances, I ask for a refundable deposit on my equipment- plateaus, plates, and adjustable dowels. This is returned to you upon the delivery of these items back to me in the same condition. |

Reserving Your Date |

Since Aimee' bakes and decorates all of the wedding cakes personally, her time is limited. She must restrict the number of weddings she will commit her services to on any given weekend. Your early reservation will assure you of the time and personal attention necessary to design, plan and create the cake of you dreams. If time allows, please call 6 months to 1 year in advance. Your wedding date is booked when you have paid a $100 deposit. The balance is due 2 weeks prior to the wedding date.
